Courtney Leigh Halford
AEA

Hi! I'm Courtney, but a lot of my friends call me Red!
I am a Kansas City Metropolitan Area based Actress, Singer, & Model who has performed in Theatre, Television, Film, Commercials, Voice Over, & Print/Runway.
Growing up, I had big dreams of one day becoming Ginger from Gilligan's Island. I spent my summers strutting around in frilly slips & my mama's high heels, while watching old Hollywood films & practicing "interview answers" for the red carpet.
(Strong only child vibes.)
My strawberry locks and early love of fashion led me to sign with a modeling agency at the age of 12. From the runway, I began to transition to the stage. I attended Webster Conservatory, where I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre & my Equity card. Then I moved to NYC, because I didn't want to drive in LA traffic, but then the MTA said "hold my beer."
I was lucky enough to achieve one of my childhood dreams & perform with Disney Entertainment for almost 5 years. During that time, I traveled Internationally to 33 countries. A career highlight was being in the Original Cast of Tangled, the Musical, working with greats like Alan Menken, Glenn Slater, Gordon Greenberg, & Connnor Gallagher. Since getting my land legs back, I've enjoyed launching my on-camera career, while still performing Off-Broadway & in New York Readings.
In my free time, I'm often snuggled up with my pup, learning how to sew, or catching up on my favorite podcasts: (Currently obsessed with 'House of Herby' & 'We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle.') I have a Freelance career in Social Media and Content Creation. I still LOVE playing dress up while listening to my Great-Grandparent's vinyl record collection. I'm also planning my first trip to Paris, which is #1 on my bucket list, so if you have any Parisian gems or tips--please share!
I'm a strong mental health advocate.
In the current state of our world, I'm passionate about making art that empowers women's stories & champions silenced voices. I believe we are capable of making great positive change through authentic storytelling & representation. (Big Little Lies, I May Destroy You, Promising Young Woman, Shondaland--I'm looking at you!) More of that magic please!
Having spent the past decade living and performing in NYC, I recently made the journey back over the rainbow and am currently nesting in Kansas.
(Bicoastal by way of the Midwest, if you will.)
Like Dorothy said--there's no place like home.
